I can't text message. I am quite computer literate but actually like to talk to people from time to time. It was bad enough when my children text messaged each other (I forbid my college students to do it in class). But now my husband has joined the texting generation and I feel quite left out. It all started a few weeks ago while we were traveling through Europe and he would text my daughter. At least when they talked I could overhear what they were saying. Now I am completely left out of the loop. Sure enough at breakfast this am the little "bong" went off and I knew he received a text message from someone. I patiently waited while he answered the text, put his blue tooth device down and continued eating his breakfast. What was that about I asked. He gave me a little smile and said it was our daughter. And I said, what did she want? When she use to call I felt part of the conversation. Now, I am totally in the dark. I actually looked at the ipod phone over the weekend with my husband and son. Maybe I just need to go out and buy one (take a lesson in texting) and show them I too can be part of the new generation of communicaters.
